"Drawn by Truth, Driven by Faith, Devoted in Love"

christ our king anglican church, beliefs

What Anglicans believe is set forth in the Holy Bible, the three historic creeds of the Christian Church:  The Nicene Creed, The Apostles' Creed, and the Creed of St. Athanasius, as well as, The Thirty-Nine Articles of Religion, and the Book of Common Prayer.

In summary, we believe:

That the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testament are the inspired Word of God, and that they contain all things necessary for salvation.

That there is one God, and in this divine unity there are three divine persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

That Jesus Christ, the second person of the Holy Trinity, is the eternal Son of God the Father; that He became fully human from the flesh of the Virgin Mary by the power of the Holy Spirit; and that eternal life is found in the name of no one else.

That Jesus Christ’s death upon the cross was on our behalf to pay for the sins of the whole world and therein provide the way of reconciliation for us with God.

hat Jesus Christ truly died, was buried, and after three days was bodily raised from the dead.  That the Lord Jesus Christ ascended to the right hand of the Father where He intercedes for us; that He will return again in power and great glory to judge the living and the dead and to establish His Kingdom forever.

That humans were created in God’s image, but because of Adam’s sin our nature is now corrupted and in need of redemption.

That we are made right with God by Gods grace alone, through faith alone, because of Christ’s work alone.

That the Holy Spirit is given to every one who puts their trust in the saving work and Lordship of Jesus Christ as a seal of redemption, a comforter and as the source of power for living the Christian life.  That while we are not saved by good works, our faith is to result in a life of good works.

That the two sacraments of the Gospel “Baptism and Holy Communion” are signs and seals of Gods grace.

That the final destiny for every believer is eternal life with God in Heaven, and the eternal destiny for those who reject His salvation is eternal separation from God.
